Kim is a Principal at the firm and a senior commercial lawyer with 30 years’ legal experience. She advises clients across commercial, employment (including Health and Safety), and relationship property matters, providing clear, practical guidance and strong strategic advice in both advisory and dispute contexts. Her work regularly involves complex commercial transactions, workplace issues, and relationship property matters, with a focus on achieving workable, commercially sensible outcomes for clients.

She was previously a partner at Hamish.Fletcher Lawyers before focusing for a period on tertiary teaching and broader professional engagement, and now maintains a combination of senior legal practice and selected teaching and training roles. This experience supports her ability to stay closely aligned with current legal and regulatory developments, while enhancing the practical insight she brings to her advice.

Kim began her career in regulatory prosecution work, developing strong expertise in investigation, enforcement, and compliance within complex government regulatory frameworks. Admitted to the Bar in 1996, she has since held senior roles in private practice as a solicitor, partner, and director in firms specialising in commercial and regulatory law.

Kim is strongly committed to legal education, having spent five years teaching applied law and business management at tertiary level and continuing to contribute as a learning delivery adjunct in law, business, and real estate, as well as an instructor delivering advocacy training to Legal Professional Studies students.

Kim holds an LLB (Hons) and a GradDip MRM (Aquaculture).

Outside of work, Kim lives in Mariri and enjoys coastal life with her family, particularly anything that gets her into or onto the ocean.
